This site is part of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s site, with familiar games including characters from B1 and B2, Rattus, Mixy, Feral TV, the Couch Potato game and more. If you hold your mouse pointer over the button on the games page, the wheel in the middle indicates the age appropriateness of the game or activity.

Alfy has various reading activities, word, spelling and maths games at this site. Simply select a game to play and click on the "Educational Value" button on the navigation bar to read a description about what specific literacy and/or numeracy learning outcomes that the game or puzzle provides.

This BBC activity is fun and will have the users trying different levels and racing against the clock. It includes sounds and keeps track of answers. At the end of the game displays the original request, attempted work and the correct answer. Also has an information page about apostrophes.

This is a US educational site which aims to teach children about their currency and provide practice in calculating how much change you would expect from a given transaction. This is a British site of the UK Mathematics Trust. This site includes maths challenges (for older students) and games and activities for younger children, including ‘Numberland’, where you can find out all sorts of irrelevant facts about lots of different numbers from the magic number square. Click on ‘links’ on the navigation bar, then select ‘games’, or 'puzzles and problems’ for a huge selection of other sites (with star-ratings) to visit to test your maths ability.

This appears to be a well constructed site, with good explanations and rationale, including plenty of information for parents and a frequently asked questions (FAQ) section. The site is sponsored by Kraft. It is aimed at preschool and lower primary children and offers plenty of opportunities to develop mathematical skill.
