These include regional competitions, such as the SMH 'Young & Younger Writer of the Year' and the 'Little Aussie of the month' and sponsoring events like the 'Sydney Writers' Festival School Days program' and the Australian Government initiative 'National Literacy and Numeracy Week'.

Pilot Pen Australia has also started its own national Creative Writing Scholarship, which is open to students in years 5 and 6 across Australia.
